Hacking… oscilloscopes?

 

Here’s a nice little write-up on hacking oscilloscopes to output basic vector drawings and raster images.

I personally find this sort of stuff very interesting as it was due to the hacking mentality of a physicist named William Higinbotham using an oscilloscope in the late 1950′s that lead to the birth of computer games (see Tennis for Two).

Crazy to think there might not be a Battlefield, tf2, or ns2 today if it wasn’t for this!

And remember: you can do this at home kids, but it wouldn’t be advisable in ER… ;)
